Retaining Wall, Caquetá Colombia

Caquetá Retaining Wall

A retaining wall, deserving of recognition. Without question, this structure is a significant civil engineering work and an accomplishment of safety and strength for Colombia’s Amazon region.

This extraordinary Rammed Earth Structure was thoughtfully constructed within the unique Amazonian rainforest environment. Today, this retaining wall protects the community from soil runoff and prevents roadway erosion despite the harsh climate and complex geological conditions of the zone.

Our technology and methodology cut foreign material use by 95% eliminating transport issues. In three weeks of rain, 35 meters of wall were built, reducing costs by over 50%.

The retaining wall, constructed on a foundation of clay, silt, and sand, illustrates the effective stabilization of challenging soils using StampTerra with a low cement content. Our technology enhances the wall’s structural integrity, enabling it to withstand lateral soil pressures, extreme rainfall, and endure seasonal fluctuations, proving to be a cost-effective and environmentally sensitive solution even in complex geotechnical conditions.
